Welcome to the Resident Evil 2 Platinum Demo Disc.
Please follow these instructions for proper installation
Before running the Resident Evil 2 Platinum demo, please make
sure that your computer meets all of the system requirements.
System Requirements
Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 98
CPU Pentium166MHz(Pentium200MHz or higher recommended.)
*With 3D accelerator card
Pentium133MHz (Pentium166MHz or more recommended)
24MB or more RAM required (32MB or more recommended)
2X speed CD-ROM
Display: 640x480 or more, High Color (16bit)
DirectX 6.0 compatible drivers for CD-ROM drive, video card, and sound card.
In order for this game to run you must have the following applications installed
on you computer:
DirectX6 or later drivers
DirectX Media
Indeo codec version 5.06 or later.
If you already have these applications installed on you system and you meet the system
requirements above you can double click on the Resident.exe file located in your X Drive
(X being the drive letter of your CD Rom drive) to begin the game.
Please note: During game play you can quit out to your desktop at any time by pressing
the F9 key.
If you do not have Direct X6, DirectX Media or Indeo Codec you can install them directly
from this CD.
To install DirectX6 simply double click on the Dx6eng.exe file located in you X Drive
(X being the drive letter of your CD Rom drive) and follow the instructions.
To install DirectX Media simply double click on the Enduser.exe file located in you X Drive
(X being the drive letter of your CD Rom drive) and follow the instructions.
To install Indeo Codec simply double click on the Iv5play.exe file located in you X Drive
(X being the drive letter of your CD Rom drive) and follow the instructions.
To play the game simple click on the Resident.exe file located in you X Drive
(X being the drive letter of your CD Rom drive).
The following list of 3D accelerator chipsets support the Resident Evil 2 Platinum Demo.
The Resident Evil 2 Platinum Demo should auto detect your 3D accelerator card. If for some reason
it cannot detect your card you can choose it manually from the options menu.

The following is a list of control functions:
For use of Microsoft Sidewinder game pad:
A: action
B: cancel
C: menu
X: action (same as the A button)
Y: map
Z: option
R: draw weapon
For use of Keyboard:
Key Assignment set which can be re-assigned
NUM8: up
NUM2: down
NUM4: left
NUM6: right
V: cancel
A: map
X: draw weapon
C: action
Z: menu
The key assignment is set and cannot be re-assigned in this demo version
Cursor up: up
Cursor down: down
Cursor left: left
Cursor right: right
Enter: action
Space: action
Escape: cancel
Function keys
F2: Reduces the amount of zombies and sprites (for low-spec computers)
F3: Changes the Gamma rendering condition (shading, mesh...)
F4: Menu
F5: Options
F7: Toggles the resolution mode down.
F8: Toggles the resolution mode up.
F9: Reset/Quit game.
